Chaminda Gamage received his art education at the Institute of
Aesthetic Studies, University of Kelaniya, Sri Lanka where he
obtained a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree. He has had number of
exhibitions in Sri Lanka. His solo exhibitions were held at Heritage
Art Gallery in 1997 and 1998 while his exhibition ‘Freedom
February’ was held at the Lionel Wendt Art Gallery, Sri
Lanka in 2000. He has taken part in number of international artist
workshops in Sri Lanka and he attended the Suthra International
Artists Workshop held in Nepal in 2004. Chaminda Gamage has received
many awards for his artworks and was given the State Award for
the outstanding painter of the year in 1996.
