Galley 71, opened in 2004, is situated in the heart of the ancient World Heritage Site of old Dutch Fort in Galle.

'Our aim and philosophy is very much geared towards supporting Sri Lankan artists in order to give them both exposure and the opportunity to continue with their creativity. Exhibitors include already established artists, young unknown artists and photographers. Although the focus is very much on Sri Lankan artists we also invite overseas artists to exhibit whom we feel have something to share. In addition we are also open and keen to be involved in charitable non profit making work such as exhibiting paintings by children in orphanages'.
