Art Today, Sanjeewa Kumara

Born in 1971 Colombo, Sri Lanka Sanjeeva Kumara received his art education at the Institute of Aesthetic Studies, University of Kelaniaya, Sri Lanka where he graduated in 1999 with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree. He attended the AKI Academy of Fine Art in the Netherlands for Diploma in Painting in 2003 and obtained a Masters of Fine Arts degree from the Dutch Art Institute, Enschede, in the Netherlands. Since then he has had number of exhibitions in Sri Lanka and abroad. Some of his solo exhibitions include ‘Dandumonara’ at the Alliance Francise auditorium, Kandy in 1996 and, exhibition of paintings at the Gallery Mountcastle and Paradise Road Gallaries in 1999 and 2003. His international exhibitions includes the exhibition of paintings at the Gallery Art corner,

The Hague in 2003 and Galerie de Waagh oldenzaal in 2000 in the Netherlands.
